Three suspects arrested for business robbery

BLOEMFONTEIN – Three suspects have been arrested after they allegedly held up employees of a shop at gunpoint in Falck Street in Oranjesig after they reportedly entered the building through the roof.
Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, a police spokesperson, says on Wednesday 29 April 2020 at about 04:45 in the morning, members of Parkweg tracing team followed intelligence-driven information to a house at Hostel 1.
He says: “This followed the incident that happened on the 22 April 2020 where the owner of the shop in Falck Street in Oranjesig was inside the shop when three suspects entered through the roof and allegedly held employees at gunpoint. They then took an undisclosed amount of cash and a Pro-line Tablet valued at R1 500 before fleeing the scene in a white Toyota Tazz.”
Makhele says the victim reported the matter to the police and it was followed up swiftly which led to the arrest of the suspects.
Three suspects aged between 23 and 26 respectively will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrate court on Monday 04 May 2020 on a charge of business robbery. Makhele says: “This was after they were arrested in their hiding nest at Hostel 1, Mangaung location in Bloemfontein.”
According to a preliminary investigation, it has revealed that one of the suspects is wanted on another theft case registered at Heidedal police station and a warrant of arrest was issued for his arrest.
