Alleged rapist granted bail of R2 000

KIMBERLEY – The 46-year-old Benjamin Letselebe allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl on 25 April in Rhodesdene.

The provincial commissioner of the Northern Cape, lt gen Risimati Peter Shivuri, has pointed out that the Kimberley family violence child protection and sexual offences unit will spare no effort or resource in ensuring that a rock solid case is prepared against the suspect to face the full might of the law.

The suspect was granted bail of R2 000 with conditions that he should report every Wednesday at Kimberley police station and that he should not contact the complainant and witnesses. The case is postponed until 29 May 2020.

Police investigation continues.
