Restriction measures deliver success

Police members are continuing unabated to enforce compliance of level 4 in terms of the Regulations of the Disaster Management Act Regulations in the greater Kimberley area.
Today , 05 May 2020 at 11:30, Lt Col Masoabi Damane and her members of Kimberley K9 unit followed up information regarding drugs being sold at a house at the Dingaan hostels in Galeshewe.
The members operationalised the information and searched the house where they discovered mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R8 293-30 as well cash believed to be the proceeds of the sale of the drugs .
The police arrested a 50 year old male suspect and charged him for dealing and possession of drugs. He will soon appear in the Galeshewe Magistrates court.
During crime prevention duties today , the members also conducted a vehicle check point in Pniel road during which 243 vehicles were stopped, 713 drivers and passengers checked for compliance in terms of the wearing of masks.
Four(4) J534 fines were issued for traffic offences amounting to R5000-00.
Police members will continue to stamp down the authority of the state during the lockdown period.
