Covid-19: Latest statistics, 7 May

On 7 May health minister dr. Zwelini Mkhize announced South Africa’s latest coronavirus figures.

There are now a total of 8 232 Covid-19 cases in South Africa. After the previous announcement, 424 new cases were reported.

According to minister Mkhize, a total of 161 deaths have been confirmed due to Covid-19 in SA and a total of 3 153 people have been cured of this virus.

The minister also says the country’s health teams and hospital groups have been able to do 292 153 tests for Covid-19 to date.
