Three men arrested for four refuse bags of dagga

PORT NOLLOTH – Members of Port Nolloth SAPS are unrelentlessly continuing to enforce the regulations of level 4 of the Disaster Management Act.

According to brig. Mohale Ramatseba, police spokesperson, on Monday 11 May at approximately 23:30 warrant officer Pieters and sgt gnl Britz were conducting patrols when they noticed a suspicious vehicle driving in Harder Street.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the two members noticed three men in the vehicle that were acting suspiciously. They stopped and searched the vehicle and found four black refuse bags with dagga.

The suspects were arrested and charged in terms of the contravention of Disaster Management Regulation and dealing in dagga.

The suspects will soon appear in the Port Nolloth magistrate’s court.

Dagga to the value of R 26 000 was seized and confiscated.

The station commander of Port Nolloth SAPS, Lt Col Moyo commended the members for their vigilance and alertness and warned criminals who intend operating that the police will continue relentlessly to squeeze the space for them to operate.
