Eskom’s proposed new tariff structure
After a court order, the National Energy Regulator of South Africa has decided to allow Eskom to recover R6-billion from its consumers. While this is correct from a legal standpoint, with the dire economic conditions due to the pandemic, options for accessing electricity outside Eskom should also be considered.
