‘Nominations open for SA Rugby Player of the Year Awards 2020’

SA Rugby has started the process to identify the winners in eight categories for the South African Rugby Player of the Year Awards for 2020.
This is according to SA Rugby Communications.
SA Rugby Communications said that: ‘Due to the disruption of the season, only eight winners will be named for 2020, instead of the usual 15 categories.’
‘The award for Vodacom Super Rugby Player of the Year will also incorporate Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked, while the Springbok Sevens Player of the Year will be nominated from the six completed tournaments before the COVID pandemic put an end to the season.’
‘As a result of the changes to the season, a number of awards will not be made this year, including for Junior Springbok and Women’s Achiever of the Year.’
‘“It was an extraordinary season and although the rugby calendar was severely disrupted, we still saw some memorable performances from our top players and they deserve recognition for this,” said Jurie Roux, CEO of SA Rugby.’
