AfriForum is planning on challenging the proposed language policy changes at SA schools. The planned changes are included in the Department of Basic Education’s draft admission policy which you can find in BusinessTech.
Draft policy
The draft policy states that no learner can be refused admission to a public school, if the refusal is solely based on the language policy of the school. The power to determine the language policy of the school must also be exercised with due regard to the Constitution’s values.
