China’s Didi Chuxing, a company backed by SoftBank, released a statement on Monday that they will launch a ride-hailing service in South Africa.

A report said that the service is set to launch officially in Cape Town, taking on established competitors like Uber and Bolt.
Didi Chuxing already operates in Japan, Australia and several South American markets and while only being funded in 2012, it is already one of China’s largest tech companies with over 550 million users.
