The SABC said that it has concluded its section 189 retrenchment process, which will see 621 people leaving at the end of this month.
346 employees
Of the 621, 346 employees opted to take the voluntary severance package while 275 occupied positions which have become redundant.
The section 189 process, while difficult, was said to be necessary for the SABC’s turnaround plan to ensure they remain in business.
