During a media briefing on Monday, the president said that production of the vaccines was already underway in Gqerbha. He also acknowledged that South Africa is behind on the original rollout plans after scrapping plans to use the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines.
Restrictions
President Cyril Ramaphosa said that the restrictions ahead of a potential third wave of Covid-19 infections are being finalized during meetings on Tuesday.
The president said an announcement will be made in the “coming days”.
