Japan made the decision to release contaminated water that had accumulated at the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific ocean, however their neighbors aren’t happy.

Radioactive water

Tokyo made the announcement this week that they would gradually release more than 1.2 million tons of radioactive water, from where it’s been stored after the 2011 nuclear plant meltdown.

South Korean and Chinese government have voiced their concerns over the radioactive water, saying that it could affect food safety and have grave consequences for marine life in the area.
